Visit or membership
Is this a one-time visit, a monthly fee, or a longer commitment?
Understand the route before choosing care.
Plan costs
A service may lead with one fee while medicine, tests, shipping, or later visits sit elsewhere. Put every part in writing.
A useful price range
GLP-1 is short for a long chemical name. In everyday terms, GLP-1 medicines include the diabetes and weight-loss medicines semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound).
As of September 26, 2026, the makers’ posted cash prices for Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound, and Mounjaro fell mostly between about $149 and about $499 for a month’s supply.
The exact price depended on the product and its strength, meaning how much medicine is in each dose. Smaller doses usually cost less than larger ones.
Those advertised prices can change. Some apply only to certain products or dose sizes, or only when a refill is ordered on time.
Many offers checked on September 26, 2026 had terms ending December 31, 2026.
These cash offers can have rules about insurance. Ozempic’s offer, for example, says you may not ask your insurance to pay you back and may not count the cost toward your deductible. Ask your plan before assuming a cash payment will count.
The bill shape
Is this a one-time visit, a monthly fee, or a longer commitment?
Is the medicine included, and can the price change with the product or the dose?
Ask about lab work, shipping, equipment, and anything billed by another company.
Find out what later reviews, message access, or changes will cost.
For online weight-loss care with the GLP-1 medicines above, most national services whose price pages were checked in September 2026 billed a monthly membership fee, with the medicine usually charged separately on top.

Insurance
Medicare Part D generally excludes medicines when they are used for weight loss.
The same medicine may be coverable for a different approved use. Each plan can still have its own medicine list and approval steps.
Before a visit, ask the plan about the exact product and the reason written on the prescription. “Covered” and “paid in full” are not the same answer.
